Syllabus

Day 1

You will be introduced to your flight instructor, who will review your aircraft log books, confirm you have the Airworthiness Certificate, Registration, Operators manual(POH) and Weight and Balance.  Your flight instructor will also check your pilot certificate, medical certificate and pilot logbook for currency.

Pre-Flight a/c inspection.

Fly to the practice area.

Explore the low end of the speed envelop for your A/C.

Record data for Minimum Controllable Airspeed (MCA), Vs, Vso in different flap setting.

Practice Approach and Departure Stalls.

Practice Short and Soft field take offs and landings.

Learn to Spot landing.

Return to Priest River Airport.

2-3 hours of ground school- Operating in high density altitude, confined areas and mountainous environment.

Join us for a evening get together with pilots and HALLO Flight Training staff for food, drink, camaraderie and the video “Landing Upsteam”.

 

Day 2

Pre-flight inspection

Fly to practice area.

Practice Slow Flight.

Practice Emergency procedures and picking emergency off airport landing sites.

Practice Short and Soft field take offs and landings.

Practice Spot landings.

Canyon and Confined area turns.

Return to Priest River Airport

2-3 hours of ground school-Operating in high density altitude, confined areas and mountainous environment.

 

Day 3

Pre-flight inspection.

Depart Priest River Airport north to Cavanaugh Bay Airstrip. Then to Priest Lake Forest Service Airstrip, then to Sullivan Lake Airstrip.
You will have an opportunity to walk around each airstrip and familiarize yourself with the many amenities available at these airstrips. Sullivan Lake airstrip is one in and one way out for landing and take off. The approach is over water. Precise energy management and spot landing are essential for this airstrip.

 
Return to Priest River Airport.

2-3 hours of ground school-Operating in high density altitude, confined areas and mountainous environment.

 

Day 4

Pre-flight inspection

On the fourth day of training, you will depart south to Magee Airstrip. days together to provide you the know how to safely negotiate both strips.

Return to KSBS.

1-2 hours of ground school-Operating in high density altitude, confined areas and mountainous environment.

CONGRATULATIONS you have experienced some of the most unique and adventuresome flight training and gained critical knowledge most pilots will never know.

 

The 4 day HALLO Flight Training course is $2,495.00.  This fee is for the entire course when the training is conducted in your aircraft.  We have a Cessna 182 and a Cessna 206 available for pilots who do not have their own airplane or don’t own an aircraft suitable for operating off hard surface runways.

Hourly rate for the C182: $165.00 per hour.

Hourly rate for the C206: $235.00 per hour.

PAYMENT

When you register for one of the listed dates, you will be required to put down a non-refundable deposit of $500.00.  Within 30 days of your scheduled training date, you must pay 50% of the balance and the remaining balance paid when you arrive on the first day of your scheduled training.  If the listed dates are booked up, we may schedule additional training dates.
